The Social Work bachelor's degree program undertakes the mission of scientific research and education through activities specific to the university environment:
− Initial and continuous training at the university level developed effectively since 1992, for the purpose of personal development, professional insertion of graduates and satisfaction the skills need of the socio-economic environment.
− Advanced scientific research in the field of social assistance, through development and innovation activities carried out on an individual and collective level, realizing an optimal capitalization and dissemination of the results obtained.
− Active involvement with our partners in social intervention projects for the benefit of individuals, groups, and communities in crisis situations.
Graduates of the social work specialization can work in several fields, among which we list the most significant:
• the field of social protection (fostering centers, centers for the elderly, general child protection departments, social assistance departments, day centers , residential centers, centers for victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, services for the homeless, home services for all categories of vulnerable people, centers for family counseling, etc.)
• health units (health departments public, hospitals, clinics);
• the field of labor (employment and unemployment offices, county agencies for payments and social inspection)
• the field of justice (penitentiaries, re-education centers for minors, probation services, drug prevention, evaluation and counseling centers);
• the field of education (kindergartens, general schools, high schools, the school inspectorate);
• the field of people with special needs (special kindergartens, special general schools, special vocational schools, centers for inclusive education, protected units, evaluation commissions for disabled people, care and assistance centers, recovery and rehabilitation centers, day centers for persons with disabilities, respiratory centers, sheltered housing);
• the field of local public administration (mayors, local councils, county councils).

The undergraduate degree program in Psychology of the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of the West University of Timișoara aims to meet the most demanding academic, national and international assessment standards, to be comparable to the academic offers and scientific research offered in the other university centers, at national and international level. The mission of the Bachelor's Degree Program in Psychology in the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology is also in accordance with the West University of Timișoara Carta and promotes the status and values of the psychologist profession (respect for human rights, human dignity and diversity, equality in the optimal development of individuals , of families, groups, organizations), as well as with the requirements identified on the labor market.
Consequently, the objectives of the undergraduate program in Psychology aim at:
1. The initial training of psychology specialists, to the standard imposed by the current level of development and perspective of society.
2. Integration of the current scientific research activity in the field of psychology, at the international level, in the training of students, as well as in the contents taught.
3. Supporting the complex training of students by making the curriculum compatible and promoting training based on scientific records, comparable to those at the international level and adapted to the needs of employers and beneficiaries of psychological services, by establishing and developing partnerships, national and international, with educational institutions higher and research, as well as with potential employers and beneficiaries.

SOCIOLOGY
Sociology, a relatively young science, is the scientific study of society. It is part of the wider category of social sciences, sciences that are gaining momentum in universities around the world. Some sociologists carry out research to provide answers to social problems, to problems within organizations, or they can identify, through specific methods, who will win the next election. Another part is simply interested in the social context and seek answers to various questions about social phenomena or the behavior of human groups and collectivities. If you are interested in deciphering and understanding the reality around you, then sociology is a suitable major for you, a career option. Together with a team of teachers devoted to the profession, you will discover new meanings for concepts such as: socialization, mass media, technology, group, trend, birth rate, symbol and many, many others.

HUMAN RESOURCES:
The Sociology study program, established within WUT since 1990, has a long tradition of training nationally and internationally recognized specialists, with professional achievements and success stories that crown the department's alumni community: researchers, teachers, managers, politicians, people of culture etc. In this context, the launch of the HUMAN RESOURCES specialization in 2011 represented a sustainable and perfectly legitimate extension that addresses both high school graduates (regardless of the year of graduation), interested in specializing in this field, but also graduates of other university specializations interested in training transversal skills or complementary to the initial profile.

PRIMARY AND PRESCHOOL PEDAGOGY
The mission of the PRIMARY AND PRESCHOOL PEDAGOGY Specialization (PIPP) offered by the Department of Education Sciences at the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of the West University of Timișoara is to train specialists in the sciences of education with the qualification of Primary and Preschool Education Pedagogy, able to conceive and carry out specific didactic activities, in an educational context, formal or non-formal. The study program of the PIPP Specialization has a pronounced interdisciplinary character, leveraging knowledge from multiple fields, such as: Romanian language and literature, language and communication didactics, Romanian language and literature didactics in primary education, mathematics, history, geography, fine arts and the teaching of these disciplines, pedagogy, psychology, special psychopedagogy, social pedagogy, sociology, through a multi-, inter- and transdisciplinary approach to education issues.

PEDAGOGY
The PEDAGOGY specialization within the field of Educational Sciences, one of the five such specializations existing nationally, is offered as a study program both at the level of initial training and at level II, of the master's cycle, through in-depth studies in the fields of pedagogy: educational management, curriculum, educational counseling.
The mission of the PEDAGOGY Specialization offered by the Department of Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of the West University of Timișoara is to train pedagogical specialists capable of providing qualified assistance for the design and implementation of any didactic and formative act, regardless of age, institution educational or educational context, formal or non-formal.
The listed occupations, the skills that the graduates have upon graduating from the undergraduate studies in Pedagogy are equally compatible for the European labor market, both from the point of view of the content of the training and due to the resources provided.
Possible occupations of future graduates: teacher of psycho-pedagogical subjects at pre-university and university level, social science teacher, educator teacher in the M.A.I. network. or M.A.P.N., documentary teacher, educational counselor for school and career guidance, specialist in education and training, designer and evaluator of educational programs, trainer in the continuing education of adults, social pedagogue, training specialist in the human resources development department, etc.

SPECIAL PSYCHO-PEDAGOGY
The mission of the SPECIAL PSYCHO-PEDAGOGY Specialization (PPS) is to train specialists in education, with an emphasis on the professionalization of specialists in the field of special education. The program develops professional skills necessary for complex psycho-pedagogical assessment and intervention, realization, planning and implementation of complex education and therapy programs for people with disabilities. The main objective of the specific measures is to promote and facilitate the social, educational and professional inclusion of people with disabilities. The field of special Psychopedagogy is an interdisciplinary one, the profession being, at the same time, educational (through the activities of educational intervention, adaptation and curricular diversification in educational progress), psychological (through the creation and implementation of personalized intervention plans, counseling and the provision of specific therapies) and social (through educational and social support services for disabled and vulnerable people, as well as their support groups (family, school, social protection institutions, etc.).
In accordance with the legislation in force, graduates of the Special Psychopedagogy specialization can obtain the right to practice freely in the field of Special Psychopedagogy, from the Romanian College of Psychologists.
Graduates of the Special Psychopedagogy specialization will be able to work, in the state or private environment, in the following professions:
- Psychopedagogue
- Special education teacher
- Support / itinerant teacher for children with CES integrated in mainstream school
- School counselor teacher
- Speech therapist
having multiple employment possibilities in various institutions:
• institutions for complex evaluation, education, remedial and recuperative therapy for people with deficiencies;
• educational institutions (special schools, integrated schools, inclusive education school centers, educational resource and assistance centers);
• interschool speech therapy centers, speech therapy offices in the education system and the health system,
• institutions belonging to the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Equal Opportunities, the National Authority for Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Health and Family, etc.;
• non-governmental organizations and private institutions (recovery centers, kindergartens, schools, etc.);
• private offices, with the right to free practice in special psychopedagogy.
