Prof. univ. dr. Alexandru NEAGOE
Alexandru Neagoe, licențiat și doctor al Universității Brunel din Londra (BA, 1994; PhD, 1998) ocupă în prezent funcția de profesor universitar în cadrul Departamentului de Asistență Socială, Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara. Începând cu anul 2001 a fost implicat în înființarea și coordonarea unui program masteral situat la interfața dintre asistență socială și spiritualitate („Practica asistenței sociale centrate pe valori”). În 2015 a dobândit calitatea de conducător de doctorat („abilitarea”) în domeniul sociologie, cu o lucrare susținută la Institutul de Cercetare a Calității Vieții, Academia Română. A susținut activitate didactică în peste cincisprezece universități din Europa și SUA. Pe lângă activitatea academică, lucrează ca pastor al Bisericii Creștine Baptiste Betel din Timișoara. Imediat după finalizarea studiilor în Marea Britanie și întoarcerea în România (1998), a fost implicat în înființarea și dezvoltarea Centrului Areopagus din Timișoara, organizație pe care o reprezintă în prezent în calitate de președinte. Pe lângă publicarea tezei de doctorat, cu titlul The Trial of the Gospel: An Apologetic Reading of Luke’s Trial Narratives (Cambridge University Press, 2002, 2005), Alexandru Neagoe este autor sau coordonator a mai multor volume științifice, publicate în țară și în străinătate (Values and Spirituality in Social Work; Counselling and Spirituality in the Helping Professions; Continuities and Discontinuities in a Time of Change; Postmodernity – Friend or Foe; Contemporary Issues Facing Families, Faces of Diaconia, Asistența socială a familiei), precum și autor a numeroase articole de specialitate din domeniile științelor sociale și teologiei. Este căsătorit cu Elena și au împreună doi copii, Tania-Carmina și Elias-Cadmiel.
